The University has today shared the following letter with AUFA’s bargaining committee. This follows the most recent bargaining session on October 28, 2025 and the union’s communications to members, which include a number of inaccuracies regarding both the meeting and the conduct of its committee members.
While the University entered these negotiations with a commitment to collegiality and respect, the conduct displayed by members of the Association’s bargaining team at the last meeting fell far short of those standards. The use of profane and abusive language directed at University representatives is unacceptable and inconsistent with both University policy and the principles of respectful labour relations.
Given this serious breakdown in decorum, the University will be asking the Director of Mediation Services to appoint a mediator to assist the parties in reaching a negotiated collective agreement.
