Collective bargaining continues to progress at AU. On Dec. 11, 2024, we officially began bargaining with Local 3911 of CUPE, representing many roles at AU including tutors, course coordinators, and instructional support staff. These initial meetings went well and laid the groundwork for a respectful and productive bargaining process. We look forward to collectively negotiating an agreement that supports the valuable relationship between AU and our CUPE members.
Additionally, bargaining resumed between AU and the Athabasca University Faculty Association (AUFA), with two meetings that took place at the end of January. We are pleased to share that these meetings were productive, with very constructive conversations that reflected our mutual interest in providing a desirable, supportive, and sustainable environment for both employees and students. We look forward to building on this momentum at our next meeting later in February.
