Bargaining begins with AUPE

Athabasca University (AU) has entered into collective bargaining with Local 69 of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE), the union representing support staff at the university. The first bargaining meetings, including the exchange of initial proposals, took place on September 23 and 25.

Progress was made at these meetings, and we look forward to continuing to bargain with AUPE. We are confident that our shared goals and values will lead us to a collectively negotiated agreement that supports a positive environment for AU’s students and team members.

Our next bargaining meetings with AUPE are scheduled for December. Updates will be provided to the AU community as available.
