Agreement close: AU and AUFA meet April 15

AU believes that AUFA and AU remain close to an agreement.

Under Alberta law, either party has one opportunity during a round of bargaining to ask the other party to vote on their most recent proposal. AUFA has exercised its right and the Labour Board granted the vote.

The only substantive issues remaining are language on term positions and the length of the agreement. These issues need further discussion, so the vote didn’t pass.

AU and AUFA are scheduled to resume bargaining on April 15th.
